Chevrolet Repair: Anti-theft 97 Chevy Malibu, chevy malibu, couple classes

Hi Mark!  I read your response to someone regarding this anti-theft device.  Is there a way to totally deactivate it to prevent it from coming on again?  Maybe a fuse that can be pulled?  My 20-year-old daughter has this car and she has missed a couple classes because of this problem.  She just called me crying this morning.  (You know how hormonal females can be!)

Hello Carla, I hate to say it but no... this system can not be disconnected in any way. The body control module send a signal to the engine module to let the engine run. If there is no signal to the PCM (engine module) it just won't run. You need to take it to a dealer have it repaired. It might cost you $400, but I'm sure it will be worth it.
