Chevrolet Repair: 1997 s-10 balzer, s10 blazer, throttle body injection

Question
hi i have a 97 s10 blazer last week it stoped running or should i say it wouldnt start so i replaced the plugs air and fuel filter.it started up i let it run in my driveway for about 20 minutes or so it ran pretty good but when i steped on the gas it would bog down alittle for about 2 seconds then would run fine again.i shut it off went back in the house came out the next morning and it wouldnt start again.now i replaced the tps sensor still wont start i rechecked the plugs they were ok i checked to see if there was spark at the coil there was i also checked at the plugs that was fine also.so now im thinking fuel.so i checked the fuel pump its tested out at 13 psi.so now im really stumped.could it be a crank sensor?any help would be great i dont want to take this to a garage.thank you troy

Answer
Hi Troy,
You are doing a great job of checking exactly the right things.
On that fuel pressure....that is correct pressure for a throttle body system, but not nearly enough for multipoint or central point injection systems.

If you have throttle body injection, look down in the throat of the throttle body, and see if there is a cone shaped spray of fuel under each injector. If not, see if there is battery voltage to the injectors. Noid lights might help. They will tell if there are pulses to the injectors, which is needed.
If there is voltage, but no pulses, a crank sensor is a possibility.
If no voltage, check the inj fuse.(Probably ought to do that first).

But actually, your symptoms sound like low fuel pressure, so see what kind of inj system you have.

(You might want to prime it...dump a couple ounces of gas down the throat...or a shot of either. That will tell you its a fuel problem if it hits.)
