Chevrolet Repair: s-10, coolant recovery, coolant level

I had that 89 s-10 with a 2.5l, now it won't start at all, and you saying the temp senor, come to think of it the gauge on the dash never showed any change in engine temp, I know the engine when it did run would get hot enough couldn't keep my hand on the top radiator hose, where would this senor be located at?

The temp sensor is not necessarily the same sender for a guage. You could have two.
The sensor should be beside the thermostat housing, and have more than one wire connected to it. it sends a signal to the computer.
If you have a guage, you could also have a temp sender, with just one wire, and it could be down on the side of the block, or on the intake manifold.

One important item....they both need to be surrounded with coolant to operate properly, so make sure the coolant level in the radiator is full. Don't just depend on what is in the coolant recovery tank.
