Chevrolet Repair: 94 Blazer, blazer s10, cat converter

Question
Hey Mark,
I need your help badly with my '94 Blazer s10 4.3l. I have been having a lot of problems as of late. Here's the situation : The Blazer seems to be having trouble getting up to speed from a stop. What it does is it flutters from around 0-40 and then it will get moving. But after comming from a stop I can almost push the pedal to the floor and it still does not accelerate. I have had a lot of work done on it over the last year, I have put new fuel injectors in, new fuel pump, a new cat converter as well. When I put in the new fuel injectors, the man said that before he changed them he could smell gas coming from the exhaust, so he replaced the fuel injectors and it ran pretty good for a few days and then it went back to the way it was running before. The egr value does have a screen across it but I don't know if thats playing a problem or not, but i need some help cause I love the truck

Answer
Hi Jon, It you haven't replaced the fuel filter do it now!! This can cause many different types of problems. If it runs rough then I would replace the dist cap, rotor and all plug wires. The injectors were a big problem in these years along with the EGR valve getting carbon in it. That screen does work to stop the carbon.

Hope this helps

Mark
