Chevrolet Repair: engine control computer, air control valve, instruction request

Question
'89 s-10 truck with a 2.5 liter four banger. has a fuel-injector throttle-body carb. original problem was truck started, shuts off as it warmed up. replaced the idle air control valve,it ran but at a high idle, adjusted the iac and now will not run. noticed no fuel coming out of fuel injector, replaced injector a month ago, fuel pump works.took truck to shop, requested to replace the ecm due to no reading from ecm. decided to do the work my self. instruction request to fix problem before installing new ecm, asks to do ressistance reading for every part associated with ecm.should i even replace the ecm, if so , do i just check for continuity or actual ressistance, what about the power source to the ecm. do you think the oxygen sensor sending bad signal and not letting fuel injector to open. thank you for your help.

Answer
Hi Fred, the reason they want you test all the resistance is so you don't harm the new ECM. I would just put the new one in because the odds that you have a bad solenoid with low resistance is very low and I have only seen maybe one in my life. The O2 sensor can't stop the injector from opening.

Hope this helps
