Chevrolet Repair: water leak 97 Tahoe SUV, heater hoses, drain hole

Question
My daughter has a 97 Tahoe. It developed a sudden water leak and the tempo got to 240, she pulled into a service station and added water and drove home. I looked at it and when putting water in it runs out the back of the engine. I crawled under and it seems to be comming out of the inspection pan over the flywheel through the drain hole and somewhere else back there. Before I get real envolved with this, any ideas?

Answer
Hi Steve, First make sure it isn't coming from the top of the engine. There is a fitting for one of the heater hoses that leak or breaks often. If all is good on the top side then the leak must be the freeze plug in the back of the engine block.

Hope this helps
