Chevrolet Repair: idle speed too low, diesel injector pump, chevy k1500

Question
Hi Van,

I own a Chevy K1500 6.5L turbo diesel truck - year 1996, with electronic injection pump.
Cold, the engine idle at 600-700 RPM wich is almost fine.
When warm it drops down to 500 and less 600RPM. I believe it's too low as is start making tapping or ticking noise, sometimes loud, same as if rockers don't get enough oil...

Is there any way I can adjust idle speed? I'm quite anxious about these noises..

Thank you.

Answer
Hello Alain,
First, and most important, is GM recently came out with a campaign on that injection pump, with a warranty replacement in the ten year, 100,000 mile range, so if you fall into that range, contact a dealer and see if it qualifies. They will replace it free. I had it done on one of my trucks at work just a few months ago.

My sheet with that recall number is on the wall above my desk at work, but should be findable on Google, searching for GM diesel injector pump, or something worded like that.
