Chevrolet Repair: brake lights, directional signals, astro van

Question
Right and left brake lights don't light with brake actuation.  Center brake light works. Both directional signals work.  Figure it must be a problem with flasher unit.  Can't find unit in my 2000 Astro Van.

Is my logic right and where is the flasher?

If the signals work, your flasher is ok. And to find it, turn a signal on, and listen under the dash for it. Should be in a clip near the steering column.

Back to the stop lights. I am not positive that that van uses the same bulb for the signals and stop lights. You could have blown bulbs. If the directional lights are amber, then they are different bulbs.
