I have a water leak on the passanger side behind the front wheel, Some tell me its a loose or broken hose, others tell me it from a bypass tube so the heater core wont leak inside when it go's bad. It only leaks after the system buids pressure.  can you tell me who is full of it and whos not? I am a poor boy, and would like to fix it myself if i can, any advice would help...Thank You. Bill
Answer -
Is the leak WATER or ANTI-FREEZE ?. This is VITAL to be POSITIVE of which it is.

Is the passengers carpet where he puts his feet WET under the carpet ?. Pull UP the carpet and look.

There is a NORMAL condensation drain hole located directly underneath the evaporator core and is usuall a hole at the bottom of the black plastic heater core/evaporator core housing assembly.

This comdensation is NORMAL when the A/C is in operation. You can crawl up under the car and look for this DIME size hole in the bottom of the housing of which condensation drains from.

Let me know.

I would have said " no its not wet inside" untill i did what you said and pulled up the mat and carpet and it IS wet, My air conditioning motor is not hooked up and i dont use it. This means the core is bad? and it looks very hard to repace, what do you say? And, thank you sooo much for the help.  Bill

Answer
You are telling me that your A/C is NOT WORKING on this vehicle , CORRECT ?>

If this IS true than the liquid that is leaking must be anti-freeze, YES ?. Taste it and if it tastes SWEET, It is definately anti-freeze and the heater core is leaking.

Tasting it won't KILL you or make you sick.

If it is an anti-freeze leak the heater core must be replaced and I can e-mail you pictures on how to replace the heater core.
