1989 Chevy Cavalier Z24 with 2.8 L engine has a problem after warming upand driving for a while of quiting upon stoping or coming to a very low idle.
Could be something with the intake manifold ?

When you come to just about a complete STOP can you feel a SHUDDERING effect in the vehicle ?.


If NOT, The most likely cause is an accumulation of a blackish residue that has accumulated on and around the throttle plate area. Use a spray type of cleaner from any auto parts store to clean this residue from both sides of the throttle plate  area.
