Chevrolet Repair: lights, chevy beretta, dimmer switch

Question
i have a 95 chevy beretta. i just replaced the dimmer switch and it only works when the handle is put to the left turn position. the rod seems not to push down as far when it is in the normal position could there be an issue with the lever on the steering column.
              thank you

Answer
The dimmer switch rod came out of position either at the dimmer switch lever or at the dimmer switch electrical unit on the steering column.

This is why you always TAPE the rod to the steering column down by the electrical switch BEFORE you remove the electrical switch.
