Chevrolet Repair: 1996 GMC Sierra Starting issues!, gmc sierra, gmc 1500

My 1996 gmc 1500 v6, has a starting problem sometimes it starts right up ,other times the engine just turns over and over then eventually starts,then sometimes you just hear the starter spin.Battery power is good off and running,fuel pump is rather new 2 yrs old, new rotor, distrib,wires and delco plugs.spark on cylinder 1 good. My guess is the starter. it has been doing this off and on for over a year and runs great once I get it cranked up. However I guess my luck has run out now. I could use a second opinion, may be overlooking something. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you have two issues.  First you will need to replace your starter.  If it just spins freely that is a starter problem.  The other issue about cranking and cranking when that problem occurs you really need to check your fuel psi to see if it is at spec.  57-61psi
