Chevrolet Repair: Power window problem, rear window wiper, door switches

Question
Hi Van,
2001 Tahoe LT.
My driver's side window stopped working in the down position. Three days later it worked.
It operated properly for a few days, then both driver's side windows stopped working in the up position. I can hear a very slight click when I press the button. Would you suggest replacing the door switches or something else? All other powers are working fine, except for the rear window wiper, which stopped working a month ago.

Answer
Door switch would be the cheapest, but just may need motors.
A loose wire connection would be the first thing to check, and then check voltage and ground from the switch with a meter.
Yes..ground. The switch controls ground, as well as power, because to change direction on the motor, the switch must reverse connection to power and ground.

A good manual, like Mitchell, has a test and troubleshooting section.
You can read, and make copies, at the public library, refference section.

Good luck,
Van
