Chevrolet Repair: starting problem, jumper cables, chevrolet blazer

Question
I have a 1994 chevrolet blazer s-10 with 160,000 miles. It will crank fine but won't start. You can put on jumper cables and it starts with no problem, and will do so for the rest of the day.The next morning,it does the same thing. The battery never runs all the way down.I had the battery checked and it was bad and has been replaced.I also replaced the coil pack, but my problem remains. Please Help!

Answer
Hi Nola,
I am curious where you connect the jumper cables. I am thinking bad ground connection from the engine to the firewall, but that might not be the case...just a thought.

A way to check if something is pulling the battery low enough that there isn't quite enough voltage to run everything, is to unhook one of the battery connections at night, and see if it starts on its own in the morning after reconnecting it.
After that initial start in the morning, the alternator charges the battery, thus the voltage is up, and the engine is warmer, so turns easier, etc.
