Chevrolet Repair: 82 S-10 Blazer,2.8V6 5spd, loose wires, battery voltage

Question
The starter will not function. New alt. battery ok, cant find any loose wires. Turning key will pull power ie ,dash, idiot lites, radio goes off etc. This was an oocasional problem that would remedy with 45mins or so of down time. Then progressed to now nothing. Jumpstarts help sometimes, but not today. any ideas? Thanks DW. Also the rig has 185000 on the clock. Aside from this new issue, it runs great!

Answer
Hi Daryl,
I realize it is almost impossible to get to, but measuring the voltage on the small wire to the starter is what is needed. It needs to be battery voltage when the key is in the start position.

Connections through the firewall, or the ignition switch or clutch switch is where to look.
