Chevrolet Repair: 1995 Chev Cav, Turn Signal Flasher, Where to find it?, chev cav, turn signal flasher

Question
Hello,
I am writing today to try to find out where the turn signal flasher is located? I don't know the proper term for this but it is the device that makes the turn signals flash.
It has been acting very screwy the last little bit and now, well it does not work at all. So no turn signals and that can be kina unsafe :)
From what we can tell, it has bit the dust and it is not in the usual place that they are. My brother has been helping me with this (he is much better with this kind of thing then I am). We have looked in the owners manual and in the Chiltens book but it was not much help. It say's that it is located on the drivers side, to the right of the steering column and you can here it under there or you could when it was working. Can you tell me, if we are going to have to take the dash apart, to get to it and if not, how to. This is a 1995 and every year before and ever year after, the signal and hazzard flashers are together but this one year, they were not, from what we can tell.
Any info on this would be muchly appreciated.
Thank You For Your Help,
Tim Randall

Answer
Hello Tim, Yes it is to the right of the steering column. It is mounted to the steel brace about 6 inches to the right of the column near the part of the dash where your right knee would be. Sometimes if you bang on the dash with your hand when the turnsignals are on it might start working so you can locate it.

Sorry I can't help you more, keep looking you'll see it.

YOU CAN GET TO IT BY JUST LOOKING UNDER THE DASH. IF THERE IS A PANEL UNDER THE DASH JUST REMOVE IT SO YOU CAN LOOK UP UNDER THE DASH.
