Pat,

First check the ground wires to the head, above the transmission.  Then check that your timing belt is not too loose, and that the timing is OK. Then check fuel mixture.

What is the milage, and service history on this car?

Paul

thanks, paul

i already checked these things.i suspuct that it is running rich but don't know if it's a sensor or a problem with the fuel injection.  the car has 157,000 miles on it.

thanks, pat

Answer
Pat,

I'm still not sure of your service history?  Are the ignition wires, and spark plugs old?
This may also be a job that is easier repaired by test driving and inspecting under the hood, which is rather difficult on the internet.

Sorry,

Paul
