Chevrolet Repair: chevrolet venture lights, chevrolet venture, marker light

Question
i have a 2000 chevrolet venture and the lights are all of a sudden acting funny.  if you step on the brake, the parking lights and dashlights come on.  when the van is running the right hand side brake light is illuminated as well as the overhead(third brake light).  the left side marker light on the top is out and I've changed the bulb, to no avail.  it starts fine and runs fine, except that the cruise control only works now part of the time.  I have checked all the fuses and cant find one that is bad. there have been no major repairs, except for a new parking light installed this summer, it has never started acting up until about 2 weeks ago when i noticed the left brake light was out, then the other problems started.

Answer
When the nEW parking light was installed it is highly possible that the GROUND wire (black wire) is loose. Check the wires.

Are you sure that you do not have a faulty light bulb in the left brake light as it can be shorted and cause all sorts of light problems.

What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a wire connection may have come loose, Look around in the area where work was performed.
