Chevrolet Repair: turn signal fuse, static interference, distination

Question
van, i am experincing my turn signal fuse blowing ( 20 amp ). it started out of the blue last week on a short 60 mile trip. i had a spare ( 20 amp ) and replaced it. when i reached my distination it had blown again.( again, after  using the signal ) this seems to happen with the left signal only and only when the signal is activated. that particular day i replaced the fuse 5 times. i will now go for 2-3-4 days with no problem. one other thing i have noticed on an off and on basis is that when using the left signal only, the stereo signal on my radio fades in and out with the flash of the blinker ( static interference? )i have pulled the cover off the lower part of the steering column and checked the wiring but did not notice anything out of place or any wires in a bind.( though i really did not know what to look for ) i have a 1998 chevy 1500 4x4 pickup with 95000 1miles on it. thanks,  mike

Answer
Hi Mike,
I suspect you have a bulb shorted.
Turn the good side on, and look at what all blinks. There could be two bulbs in some of the lights, so look closely to see if there are two bright spots through the lense.
Then turn the other side on, and see if one of the spots is missing, then remove that cover, and check the bulbs.
The stereo is psobably from the heavy power draw due to the short.
I'd think that side blinks faster also.
