Chevrolet Repair: turns over but doesnt fire, spark plug wire, fuel pump

Question
always started fine. Next day it turned over good but did not fire at all. battery is good. Just had a tune up about a month ago. 91 suburban with a 350. What should I check first?

Answer
Hello David,
First, listen for the fuel pump buzzing in the tank. You may need to get back under the vehicle, and have someone turn the key to run. The pump should run for about three seconds, then stop.
If it doesn't run, check the fuel pump fuse.
If it does run, remove a spark plug wire, and see if there is spark when it is cranked. You might need a spare spark plug clamped to a ground.
