Chevrolet Repair: Timing Chain on Chevrolet Cavalier 94, chevrolet cavalier, oil additive

Question
Hi Mark.  On last Tuesday I was coming home from my last day of shopping and my car just died.  It wouldn't start and so I took it to an Auto repair place in my town to find out what the problem was.  Timing chain was supposedly the problem.  They told me that it would be $565.00 and told me to pick it up on the next day at 5:00pm.  I went to go and pick it up and it wouldn't start.  I was told to call back the  next day at 9:00am.  I did and I was told to call back in an hour because an oil additive was being added to build the pressure up in the motor.  I was also told that no valves were bent and that sometimes it takes a couple of days for the pressure to build back up in the motor.  Does that sound correct or am I being scammed.  They gave me the chain which looks like it snapped and assured me that there would be no additional cost.  They say that they're just waiting for the pressure to build back up and sometimes it takes days.  Do you know for this to be true?  Thank you so very much. Nikki

Answer
Hi Nikki, These guys are killing me!! Might take days for the pressure to build up, not sure on what they think they are talking about. This place is not a good place to take your car, but they better get it running at no charge to you since they already repaired it once and it still doesn't start.

Let me know how you make out

Have a Nice Day    Mark
