Chevrolet Repair: car stalling, electrical schematics, chevy cavalier

Question
my 1991 chevy cavalier starts to shake and stall
sometimes when i slow to a stop.this usually happens when the car has been driven a lot.....i restart it by idling very highly in neutral and
shifting into drive..car also starts to hesitate
slightly if being driven up even a slight hill or
incline....sometimes all of the above problems vanish for weeks before recurring.....this has
been going on for about 2 years..i had a tune-up
about a year ago,and problem disappeared for a few weeks before coming back

Answer
Obviously it is a problem with something being replaced, Adjusted or manipulated during the tune-ups. I would have your mechanic have a look.

Another possibly that is quite frequent is that the transmission can sometimes stick in OVERDRIVE which is caused by a faulty solenoid.

1. Open the hood of the vehicle.

2. Just above the starter to the right below the drivers side headlights, On the TRANSMISSION you will see a 4 wire electrical plug.

3. Unplug it and see if your problem is gone.

4. Do NOT worry IF the CHECK ENGINE light comes ON in the dash.

Just let me know IF your problem is resolved.
