Chevrolet Repair: service engine light, chevy blazer, egr valve

i have a 1995 chevy blazer s10, recently my service engine light came on and it read code 32 EGR. so i went and checked the EGR valve and it was stuck open. i cleaned it and got it unstuck, now my car runs fine, but the service engine is stuck on. how do i reset it?

Hi David,
For several years you could just unhook the battery for a few seconds...but I believe a 95 needs a scan tool to erase codes.
There are, however, some codes on some vehicles that will erase themselves after a certain number of run cycles after the problem is corrected, so I would run it a few days and see if it does that.
Some parts stores will loan a scan tool for you to read codes, and you can erase them with it.
