Answer -
WHAT diagnostics led you to believe that the combination valve is faulty ?.

In over 25 yaers I think I have replaced maybe 3 of these valves.
I, agree.I have changed 1. Prossess of elimination. Replaced the rear brake line from proportion bar to left rear clynder, tried to bleed and no fluid, semi hard pedal.Replaced master clynder same results. Have fluid to proportion bar, dribble coming out of proportin bar. What else can it be?

Answer
Let me ask you this: Do you have sufficient barke fluid flow coming out of the bleeder screw at the RIGHT rear brake cylinder ?.

Think back for a moment. Do you have sufficient brake fluid flow from BOTH front brake calipers ?.

If you recall when the rubber brake lines get old, One at each front wheel and one at the rear axle, they tend to deteriorate internally.

Naturally when you step ON the brake pedal, You are applying a tremendous amount of brake pressure of which will push the fluid past any slight blockage within the brake lines.

When you RELEASE the barke pedal you have NO hydraulic pressure RETURNING the fluid to the master cylinder.

Therefore IF you have a restriction, Due to internal deterioration of the brake hose(s) this pressure will cause the valves within the combination valve to remain in the apply position of which can cause your valve to operate abnormally.

You MAY be right about a faulty and or internally contaminated combination valve but don't overlook the above possibility.
