I have a 1992 Chevy corsica, 4 cylinder, four door car. I have a problem with my front head-lights. They stopped working last week. I took the car to the mechanic. this evening, as it was turning  dark,  I put on my lights, only to find out the head-lights still don't work! All the other lights work, and the mechanic put a new switch on the drivers side steering wheel-(The on-off switch that turns on-off the outside lights to the car. A replacement switch was needed  he said, and this new switch when installed would fix the problem. He put the new switch in, but it does not solve the problem. He even tried repairing  the wires under the dash, but my head-lights still won't work. I can't drive this car at night, and I must get to work after dark. Any suggestions? I went to Auto zone, and was told there are no fuses to the head-lights, only fuses to all the other lights. What might I sugggest to the mechanic, or do myself to get these head-lights back on so I can drive at night? Thank You.

I have seen this problem numerous times, Did anyone think to check to see if BOTH head lights were burnt out ?.

Test for battery voltage at the haedlight sockets and or test the bulbs themselves.

It happens, Though RARE.


autohelp The head lights were checked to see whether they were burned out, and they weren't. It was the light switch. However, when the switch was put in, now the head lights work, but the left turn signal and the side lights don't work. The left turn signal comes on, but will not blink, and the side lights don't come on at all. But I do have rear and head lights. What is your thinking on this new set of problems?

Did these lights ALL work PRIOR to the headlight problem ?.

Are you SURE or are you just GUESSING ?.

If they ALL did work prior to the headlight switch installatio, Either the WRONG headlight switch was installed or whoever installed it caused these OTHER problems while installing the switch.


QUESTION: On the turn signals that do NOT work, Do BOTH front and REAR light illuminate, But just don't FLASH or does ONLY the front or rear only illiminate and don't FLASH ?.
