Chevrolet Repair: hard to start, chevy blazer, pulsator

Question
I have a 96 Chevy Blazer, 4.3 W engine with SFI injection 140,000 miles. I have to crank it 10 to 15 times in short intervals to start it when it's cold. I can hear the fuel pump run, butterfly is closed in the throttle body, air and fuel filters are new. After this cold start it starts and stops and starts again fine. I can get a quick start by spraying gas in the throttle body. thanks for any help!

Answer
Hi John, You need to put a fuel pressure on the fuel pressure tap on watch the gauge when you go to start it. It should be at least 58 to 60 psi and it should be there very fast. If this pressure isn't there replace the fuel pump and pulsator if it has one.
