Hello mark,

I have problems starting a chevy van G20 it did start and i drove for 200 meters and then she did quit and i can't get it running again i did check the sparkplugs but they spark and it's getting fuel but she won't run it's a G20 from 1995 can you help me?

greetings Bouke

Hi Bouke, You say you have spark and fuel so lets try this...Spray some carb cleaner in to air intake for the intake manifold. If you can get to the throttle plate this would be a good spot. If it tries to run then you have a fuel problem. If nothing happens then I would make sure that you have a good hot spark from the ignition coil. It should jump a gap of at least 1 inch.

When it was running did it run rough or smooth?

Let me know what happens

Mark

Hello Mark,

i did put some fuel into the carb but there was no difference could it be a faulty module in the distrubitor?
we've tried a new coil but no difference we have a very weak spark

greetings Bouke

Answer
Hi Bouke, If the weak spark is right at the coil and and not at the spark plug wires i would be looking for weak voltage to the coil. If your testing at the dist cap or through the coil wire one of these parts could be bad. I have seen a lot of bad coil wires and dist caps and rotors cause some strange things to happen. Test at the coil tower and if it is good there replace the dist cap and rotor. Also should get a new coil wire.
