Chevrolet Repair: 1990 Geo Storm, center bolt, salvage yard

Expert in Chev cars is unable to answer question due to demand by others.  Hope you can help.
Working on 1990 Geo Storm: Which way do I loosen center bolt on harmonic balancer?  Replacing timing belt.  Broke small piece off balancer trying to loosen bolt, and would I need to replace balancer?

Depends on how big is a small piece, and if it is in the belt groove.
If you are just talking about a tiny chip, I would possibly leave it alone.
But if it is the size of a wheel weight, you should probably replace it, since balance is part of its job.
I would go to a salvage yard, and get a good replacement, including the bolt, and look at it. Even ask them at the salvage yard.
I have seen left hand threads on crankshaft bolts, but not many of them.
I just don't know on that car.
