Chevrolet Repair: Warm engine dies hard to start, throttle body injection, gm vehicle

Question
long trail of troubles (I am SS-Disabled and cannot afford Shop/labor prices}
Fuel system? problem of quiting on the take off& on the road.I suspected Bad fuel(it was cloudy and gritty} and Mech friend told me to replace the INTANK hose from Pump to Pickuptube, since I had it off\open anyway.changed filter,renewed any rubber hose in both "output" and "return" line. It ran like a CHAMP for 215 miles then started die'ing at low idle and hard/No start when warm or hot.
Diag.Comp yeilded NO #'s ,even at point of engine stall out. On the sug.of Mech friend I changed plugs, ck'ed~cln dist cap.all filters, renewed or  reattached all Vacc tubes(that I could find}.
Brining me up to today{took a week off 'cause I broke a rib doing the @%$^ left bank plugs}.
Today ,I took my brain out and played with it, opened the Insp.plate and swaubed the available area with hen fat(alcohol}and tweeked it with a tire iron{sic) twisted it as the motor ran , No results.
   Motor did die at low idle in about 20 minuets, now I wait for it to cool.

Answer
Hello Henry,
You didn't say what kind or year vehicle.
But with an in-tank hose, I will assume it is fuel injected. The grit could be rust, but could also be flakes of fuel pump, so a pressure test is in order.
If it is a GM vehicle, with throttle body injection, it needs the full 14 PSI all the time, on the engine side of the filter.
