Chevrolet Repair: 1993 S-10 Blazer loss of acceleration, gas cap, exhaust system

Question
Hi there

I have a 93 S-10 Blazer with about 71,000 miles on it.  When I go for longer drives after about 90 minutes or so I tend to lose power when trying to accelerate.  If I try to accelerate the car sputters and doesnt accelrate.  The car will go if I give it gas very gently.  The car has also stalled and then after waiting 10 min will start right back up.

This only happens after about 90 mins of driving - before that it will accelerate fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Michael,
Try removing the gas cap, and see if a vacuum is forming in the tank, starving the engine for gas.
A clogged exhaust system, such as rust flakes stacking against the holes inside the system and plugging them, and later falling off when the engine is off.
Try the gas cap first.
