Chevrolet Repair: transmission, sitting on a shelf, scan tool

own a 1994 K1500 . Have a problem with it not downshifting . you take off from a stop,stays in 4th gear ! find no codes . taken it back to the dealer,checks ok . if you could advise me on this,the warrenty is still good . the transmission is 1 week old !

Gee David,
I would say the governor may be sticking, or something in the control valve body is sticking, but it should be their problem.
I wonder if that tranny has been sitting on a shelf for a long time.
It may check out ok with a scan tool sitting still, but they need to take it for a ride with you.
