Chevrolet Repair: 4x4 transmissions, automatic tranny, chevy 4x4

I have a 1980 1/2 ton chevy 4x4 and it has a 3 on the tree. I want to install an automatic tranny. Will any turbo 350 work? What all will need to be changed?

Hi Chad,
I don't do any switching like that any more, but I would say the flywheel will need switched to a flex plate, and the driveshaft will probably need changed.
Cross member and motor mount also, possibly.
If you make a trip to a salvage yard, they know a lot about interchangability.
