Chevrolet Repair: 87Chev.4x4(3/4)...Brakes, wheel bearings, caliper

Question
My Rotors in the front are bad. What is the eisiest way to get them off?  Do I need a special tool? Thank you for your help. The truck has lock outs

Answer
Hi Travis,
First, remove the caliper.
Then, if it is a heavy duty, the rotors may be part of the hub, and the wheel bearings need to be removed, and the hub and rotor replaced as an assembly.
If the rotor is separate, after the wheel, and the caliper are removed, the rotor comes right off. You may have some little star washer type clips holding it on some of the studs, but I usually just clip them off. They only hold the rotor in position during assembly.
Good luck,
Van
