Chevrolet Repair: electrical problems associated with turn lights, gmc safari, safari van

Question
I have a 1987 GMC Safari van and recently noticed the alternator voltage meter pointer on the dashboard fluctuating with same timing as the turn signal lights right or left. I checked all the turn lights and found the right rear turn and stop light combo bulb burned out, and the backup light in the same condition ( 2 of 3 bulbs there). I replaced those (2) with new bulbs and re-checked the lights and they are now working, but the fluctuating continues to happen on the turn signals. One item I almost forgot about in the past I had install a backup alarm on the backup circuit with a crimp on plastic connectior. I had since removed the alarm and  wiring. But I left only the attached connector to the original circuit wiring with electrical tape over both. Please help me to remedy the problem if you can. Thank you for your promp response.

Answer
Hi Thomas,
The connector...don't wory at all about it.
The fluctuation is also something I wouldn't wory much about, although it could indicate that cleaning the battery connections may be needed.
If the battery is several years old, it's capacity caould be lower than when it was new, but if you are having no other problems, such as slow cranking, just the normal maintenance of removing and cleaning the connections is all I would do.
Good luck,
Van
