Chevrolet Repair: fuel pump/gas tank, rs camaro, gas tank

hey mark. i have a 1991 rs camaro it is a v8 with tbi. my ? is im puting in a new motor with a carb and a eletric fuel pump.what will i have to change on the gas tank? also do you know if it is safe to change a motor on a car that has a airbag? could it go off real easy?

Hi Steve,  I think you just need to remove the fuel pump fuse to stop the pump in the tank from running. Your new pump will be able to suck the gas through the pump in the tank with no problem. This is a good thing because removing the tank on this car is very hard. As long as you remove the air bag fuse you won't have any chance of setting off the bag.
