Chevrolet Repair: 94 Berreta, spark plug wires, steady speed

Question
I have a 94 Berreta. It seems recently I have a huge loss of power in the car. I can barely get up hills anymore. When I try to go up a hill and give it some gas it goes onto overdrive or something and revs very high. During idling the engine has a pinging sound to it. And when I keep the car at a steady speed the engines shakes violently, so I am constantly on and off the gas.

Answer
Hi Herbert, Well you might have bad spark plug wires or ignition coil/coils. You should also make sure that you have a new fuel filter installed. The first thing to do is the fuel filter then go from there. If it still bucks then look into a major tune up with new wires.
