ANSWER: Hi Jerry,
The only easy explanation is that the contact in the master power switch which is operated by the 'window lock button' is not making good contact. You might try spraying some electrical contact cleaner (available in a spray can from an electronics supply) in the immediate vicinity of that control button to see if some would get inside the switch and correct the situation.
An alternative explanation is that the yellow wire that comes out of the master switch on pin 5 carrying the 12v from the lock contact which then goes through the left hinge opening at a blue color disconnect pin 1 at the hinge has fatigued near that disconnect due to the constant flexing of the wire when the door is opened and closed. So if you can locate the yellow wire at the blue disconnect check to see whether is shows 12v on when window lock button is in the off position. If it is then that wire has fatigued further along on the way to pin 1 of the black 8 wire plug on the back side of the fuse box in the dash (access would be from under the dash or the internal to that 'junction block' there is a disconnect because the yellow wire is supposed to go directly back out to pins 6, 7 and 8 of that same plug from which it goes to the passenger, right rear, and left rear window switches on individual yellow wires.
If you would like to access the master switch the interior door panel must be removed which I can tell you about in a follow-up q and a.
Please 'rate/nominate' my answer/me (see the PS below).
Thanks,
Roland

QUESTION: wanted to say thank you for your very informative answer. I removed the door panel and removed the switch box, sprayed contact cleaner into the switches. that didn't work. I'm not going to mess with the wiring. I'll have to take it to our dealer. there was no button to rate your answer on your email. if there is a way for me to do that I would appreciate your response. Sorry it took so long to get back to you as this was the first time I could work on it.gain, thank you for your help

Answer
Hi Jerry,
I appreciate the progress report (or lack thereof). If you could use either a voltmeter or a 12v neon test light to check the specific colored wires we still might be able to do it ourselves.
This follow-up q and a (at the bottom of the answer) does give you another opportunity to use the 'rate' button and there-in you will see a yes/no for giving a 'nomination' of me for volunteer of the month.
