Chrysler Repair: 1997 chrysler sebring lxi: code 45, chrysler sebring lxi, 1997 chrysler sebring lxi

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1997 chrysler sebring lxi i replaced the shifting module about three months ago and it fixed the problem it was in limp mode. shifted fine for a few months then went back to limp in mode i replaced input and output speed sensors but still wont get past second gear getting a code 45. what should I do next.

ANSWER: Hi Darrell,
What tool are you using to get that fault code, and are you sure it is a transmission code rather than an engine fault code? I don't see a 45 code in my '95 lxi manual for either the transmiision of the engine which is also strange.  Tell me about the code readout device you are using.

QUESTION: just turning the what is code 45 ?  Mine is a 97 could it be a bad ground strap i have read that to be a problem

Answer
If you mean you did the ignition key on-off-on-off-on and leave on, then that would be only for engine code problems. But there is no code 45, so try it again. A code 55 means
end of code readout, if that turns out to be what you have there.
You would need to do a readout with a plug-in code reader to get the transmission fault code which is clearly the place where your problem is located if it won't shift out of 2nd gear (limp mode). I doubt it is a grounding problem.
