Chrysler Repair: remote keyless intermittent: 06 minivan, 4 digit numbers, autoparts store

Question
2006 town and country. keyless remote works intermittently. change batteries in both remote keys  and they both still work intermittently.

Answer
Hi Enrique,
The one possibility that is simple to try is the following:
Using the remote fob, press and release the unlock button and the listen to hear whether the door locks respond in the vehicle. If not, then do it again, and listen. Do that up to as many as 8 times until you get a reliable response.
This is called 'synchronizing' the fob with the remote's radio receiver in the vehicle. When you change the battery in a fob these can become 'un-synchronized' and this will correct the problem. Do it using each of the fobs.
If that doesn't make the system work better, then go to a nationwide autoparts store and have them do a free readout for any fault codes that are stored in the body computer memory. Get the code number and let me know and we'll go from there. An independent shop will charge maybe $40 for the body controller code readout (ideally all the vehicle's controllers will be readout when the job is done). So let me know if get any such 4-digit numbers preceded by a letter (also get the letter of the code).
