Chrysler Repair: alternator, sebring convertable, pivot bolt

Question
How do I replace the alternator in a 1999 sebring convertable jx 2.5 engine?  I believe I have to remove the air conditioner.

GENERATOR - 2.5L
REMOVAL
Disconnect battery negative cable from remote negative terminal on shock tower.
Unplug field circuit from generator.
Remove the B+ terminal nut and wire Wiring Connections - 2.5L
Loosen top mounting ear bolt.
Loosen pivot bolt, but do not remove. Be careful not to lose nut Generator - 2.5L Engine
Loosen adjusting bolt on idler to allow removal of the generator drive belt. Refer to the Cooling System.
Remove pivot bolt, do not drop spacer.
Remove top mounting ear bolt.
Remove upper generator bracket.
Remove generator.
INSTALLATION
For installation, reverse above procedures. Tighten all fasteners to the proper torque. Refer to the Torque Specifications chart.
