Question
hooked up computer to the car the codes were p0500,p1968. bought new batterie, transmission oil changed, and changed the input output sensors for transmission.speedometor works when it wants to and transmission works when it wants to. this is happening when the PRND321 are all lit up.once in a while it will work fine.

Answer
Hi Jaime,
The 0500 says that the output speed sensor signal is not reliably being received at the TCM which would be consistent with your observation about the speedo. The 1698 says that the digital data is not being received from the TCM by the balance of the digital bus system. That might be either a failing TCM or a poor connection of the digital wires from the TCM. The lighting of all the positions on the gear indicator also confirms an issue with the digital data not being received from the TCM.
I would suggest that you check the wire from pin 46 of the TCM plug to pin 14 of the data link connecter that is under the dash by the steering column and also from pin 7 of the TCM to pin 7 of the plug under the dash. Also inspect the wiring harness of the output speed sensor and verify the connection of pin 1 of its plug to pin 13 at the TCM and from pin 2 of its plug to pin 14 of the TCM.
It may be the case that the TCM is failing but I would check the ware connections to be sure.
