I replaced the voltage regulator when I bought the vehicle as the fan didn't work I'm pretty much stuck as to what the problem might be do you have any suggestions many thanks doug

Answer
Hi Doug,
It may be just a matter of calibrating the doors inside the HVAC unit so that the blend air door is in the proper position to send the air across the heater coils.
First, have tried the self-calibration test with the control panel? To do that turn the ignition key to 'run' position. Then press and hold simltaneously the power and recirc buttons for at least 5 seconds until led's or grahics start to flash. If you have the manual unit it will take 2 minutes for the calibration, 20 seconds for the ATC type of unit. If all the flashing stops, then the calibration is successful, if not then you have a fault that can be read by a dealer with a DRB III unit. That might solve the problem. Let me know which type of control you have, and how many different control zones it has.
The blend door and mode door actuators are on the far left end of the HVAC unit. You can access the left end of the unit by removing the left side under dash 'silencer' which is the 13th-step of a partial dash disassembly procedure. I believe you may have to do the first 12 steps to get to this step. The easiest way to show you that and the relevant blend door(s) is to copy the pages from the manual and postal mail them to you. It is too long to enter by keystroke and you won't have the diagrams which are helpful. Once you have the silencer off there is a cover on the left end of the HVAC, held on by 3 screws and 2 'ears', which when removed will reveal two or three actuators. The top front actuator is the mode, the lower front is the blend door for the passenger (if you have the 2 zone system, if not then it is the only blend door) and the one actuator towerd the rear is the driver blend door (only if you have the 2-zone front system).
The actuators have plugs and are held in place by 2 screws. All that is shown in a diagram.
I will await your response as to how to go on from here.
