when i first crank over the car it wont start, when i turn the key off then back on to start it starts, but runs kinda rough for a sec then smoothens out, any ideas

Check for fault codes using the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer window in the cluster to see if the mileage reading changes to show any four digit number preceded by P. Let me know what they are if so. The other possibility is an egr valve that is not quite closing to a dead stop when the engine is shut down/idling and so the mixture then is too lean to sustain a good idle. You might want to remove the valve and clean the internal passageways. Let me know for details.
