Chrysler Repair: 2002 Chrysler Voyager: ambient temp gauge, ac condensor, chrysler voyager

Question
Roland,
It was a fuse and the side view mirrors now work. I must have looked at this 10 times and just plain missed it. Also helps to know exactly what fuse to check.  Thanks!
Unfortunately, I have not had any luck with the external temperature gauge (overhead panel). It still reads -40.  I did replace the sensor but that did not do anything.  I tried to follow the wires back as far as I can.  After they leave the sensor, the wires go under the radiator or AC condensor and then run into a large bundle of wires.  I am not really thinking that there is a problem along these lines because they seem completely intact.  Is there a fuse or relay that controls this gauge?  I have looked at all of the fuses and did not see any blown, but I missed the last one :)  Could it be one of the relays?  I know the gauge is really not all that important, but I like to have everything work the way it is suppose to unless it costs big bucks to fix. So, any other ideas on this would be welcome.
Once I get this fixed, I will tackle the electric side door. I did go to Autozone and they did check it out.  No error codes at all.
Thanks!
Tim

Answer
Hi Tim,
The circuit is simple from the sensor to the integrated power module in the engine compartment.
The violet/brown (sensor return) wire goes to pin 18 of the ipm green plug, while the violet/light green (sensor signal) wire goes to pin 9 of the same plug. That plug is on the back side of the ipm box, near to the front control module on the box.  At that point it is digitized and joined to other signals going on a digital bus wire from the ipm to the diagnostic junction port (socket for code reader under the dash) and then from there to the overhead console both of these 'runs' are on a white/violet wire. There is no unique power supply for the sensor that I can see either at the ipm or overhead console, and no apparent unique fuse for the sensor/console for the ambient function, and the bus to the console also must carry some data in addition to the ambient temp, so would have to believe that one of the 2 sensor wires is open or shorted to ground. So check those 2 wires I listed above for continuity or a short to ground.
