Chrysler Repair: error code 23: 04 LH, 2004 chrysler concorde, automatic temperature control

Question
QUESTION: My vents that blow in the front have stopped working and the fan just seems to want to be on two speeds.  I ran the diagnostic and got a 23 code.  My question is:  Why does the vent work properly while going through the diagnostic and not when normally operating?

ANSWER: I assume this is an early ATC. Let me check the manual and see if I can find out.

Answer
I am not sure if you have the manual or the automatic temperature control system. The fact that you only have 2 fan speeds in either case means that either the blower motor 'resistor block' (manual control) or "power module" (ATC control) is bad. I would start by replacing the blower block or module. Then see if the air distrubution issue has resolved itself.
Even before that you could do a 'standard calibration' of your unit by:
Start the engine and let it run
If you have ATC turn the control unit on
Set the temp controls for full cold for 2 minutes
Set the temp controls for full hot for 5 minutes
Then see if the air distribution has resolved itself.
