Chrysler Repair: heater/ac bcm bypass:93-7 LH body, 1993 chrysler concorde, chrysler concorde

Question
QUESTION: Hi Ronald, My 1993 Chrysler Concorde (3.3L V-6) has a capacitor burnt out in the bcm.Unfortunately it has the ATC so finding the bcm in the junk yard is next to impossible. I paid $600 for the car and dont want to buy a new bcm (i am ordering the capacitor though ).The bcm went wonky years ago and i parked the car. It was unlocking the doors, opening the trunk, blowing the horn at random times and not stopping, running the antenna motor, shut down the gauges periodically (the fuel gauge still doesn't work but that may be something else) and the heater/ac fan wouldn't work. I pulled fuses and drove it for a while then parked it. I guess the capacitor finally died.In the mean time is there a way to bypass the bcm so that i can get the ac to work? The heater works fine just no ac. It worked briefly when i disconnected and reconnected the battery. In fact if there is a way to eliminate the bcm all together i would like to remove it from the system all together.
         Thanks!

ANSWER: Hi Daniel,
The bcm is 'central' to almost every function of the ATC system. I would be inclined to look for a used bcm at a wrecker. I would believe that a '93-'97 bcm with three plugs would likely work,  but no guarantee. A '94 would almost certainly work. You could check witha dealer parts counter for interchangeability.

QUESTION: Is there a way to substitute the atc panel with an older one that could be straightwired to just turn the heater on and off and control the fan speed(same with the air conditioner) the thing kept turning on today and all it did was blast heat, id hit the side of the center console it would stop then turn on and i could turn it off this was the norm for a 2 hr business trip i had to make today. Im just fed up with the bcm and the atc i just want simple on, off and fan speed. I f there is any hope or a wiring diagram that is better than the one in the Haynes manual please let me know. Thank you for the help!

Answer
Hi Daniel,
The problems are that you would need to disconnect about 8 wires that now go to the body computer and move them to a plug on the conventional control unit that you need to get as a pigtail along with the unit proper. Also the blower motor solid-state power module (14-speed) would need to be replaced with a blower motor resistor block (4-speed) and that re-wired also. The resistor block would also come out of the donor vehicle for the control panel.
I still believe you would have greater success with a used body computer. No rewiring would be necessary, just 'plug and play' and success would be much more likely. I do have the 7 pages that show the two separate wirings and could xerox copy and postal mail to you. If you would send back three 44-cent stamps to cover my costs that would be appreciated.

PS: Thanks for the rating/nomination. I just can't be sure how changing over from an ATC to a conventional control will work out. It might be that except for blower power module the main housings are identical. Then the project would involve getting the replacement controller along with all its wiring harness and hoping it will interface with all the control door modules on the main housing.
So check at a dealer and see if there is any difference between the bcm's for '93 vs other years and other nameplates on LH body vehicles. Then you would know what donor cars' bcm would work when you find candidate vehicles. I would imagine that the nationwide hot lines that wreckers maintain, or that the on-line parts recyclers or eBay can come up with a bcm that will work. On the other hand, let me know your postal mailing address and I'll copy the pages and mail them. My return address will be on the envelope.
