Chrysler Repair: Disable Anti Theft on 04 Concord, bulldog security remote starter, chrysler concord

Question
I recently installed a Bulldog Security Remote starter in my Girlfriends 2004 Chrysler Concord.  After installation the car started up with the remote start but doesn't stay started for long.  I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the anti theft system.  Is there a way to uninstall or disconnect the factory anti theft system in a chrysler concord?

Answer
Hi Kyle,
If the engine starts and runs for about 3 seconds, that is the symptom of an attempt to start the car when it is in the armed status of its anti-theft system. That system is unfortunately programmed into the body computer/engine controller system so it can't be disconnected. About the only thoughts I would have is to see if it will start remotely when the car is not 'armed'. You can do that by either unlocking it with a remote key fop or of course unlocking the door with a key. The other approach would be to secure the car by only using the mechanical lock buttons on the doors when leaving the vehicle, never using the power door looks, the key locks or the remote key fob to secure the vehicle because all those approaches will arm the anti-theft system.
So I wish there were a way to disconnect the theft alarm system, but either avoiding calling to action or disarming it are about all you can do. Please let me know if these alternative approaches work for you.
