Chrysler Repair: Starting problem: 06 300, 4 digit numbers, chrysler 300

Question
When I turn the key on my 2006 Chrysler 300 Limited, it takes two or three times to get car started...I have talked to some people and they say this is common issue, can the ignition be changed to a tap start?

Answer
Hi Lori,
Do you mean that the starter motor doesn't respond or that it does but the engine won't 'catch' and run?
If the latter, then try the ignition key to get a fault code:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer window in the instrument cluster to see if the mileage reading changes to show some 4-digit numbers preceded by a P. Let me know and we'll go from there.
If the former (starter motor not respoinding), let me know that too. I am not sure what you mean by a 'tap' start'
