Chrysler Repair: 1994 LHS, high gears, reputable repair shop

Question
I have a 1994 LHS that is having some bcm issues.  The heater comes on full blast at will.  The transmission will not shift into high gears. The transmission issue is intermittent and can be fixed if the car is shut off and started again. I want this issue to get fixed.  Can you recommend someone that can actually fix this.  I have already shelled out 1500 for a new transmission. Is this something I can do my self.  I am not afraid to tinker.

Thanks for your time,

Bill

Answer
Other than generally recommending that you take the vehicle to a reputable repair shop or dealership service department, I cannot recommend anyone specifically. As far as you trying to repair these concerns yourself, I would advise against it. The reason being that unless you have access to the specialized diagnostic tools and knowledge of the dianostic procedures that are required to look into these systems, you'll be working in the dark, in a manner of speaking. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
