Hi Roland,
This is not a question but a solution to the problem I had.
I am going to an auto parts store to see if they can identify the part I need. I think it is the spring in the foreground of the image I attached. It may have lost some of its strength due to aging and some corrosion.
The spring is supposed to act as a return for whatever the mechanism it is that it is attached to. When I lubricated that piece and it's slide my stalling problem disappeared.

Answer
Hi Michael,
I am slowly downloading the picture, but it appears to perhaps be the exhaust gas recirculation valve? It that is the case then I would lubricate the valve stem with WD-40 and move it back and forth via the slot in the stem. This is often the cause of stalling when coming to a stop. But I can't be sure. Which engine is this?
The egr valve I refer to has a pipe that comes from the exhaust manifold to the valve body, and then there is a round vacuum operated device separated by a flange and inside the flange is the stem that I described. So look for that part too.
Thanks for the photo, and let me know what part you think it is. I would advise check the egr.
